About Us

Sunrise Restaurant has been a staple in East Charlotte since July 1989. We are dedicated to serving great quality food with a warm and inviting dining atmosphere. Even though we have changed locations we still have the same food and service as before.

In September of 1989 hurricane Hugo hit the Charlotte area and left most of the area without power for weeks. Sunrise Restaurant regained power before many other homes and businesses, and quickly started doing what it does best: serving the community. While price gauging was wide-spread in the area, Sunrise did not raise prices and handed out supplies, including plenty of ice, to those in need without charge.

September 2017 we were forced to close our location of 30 years. We relocated most of our wonderful staff to a restaurant in South Charlotte, until we figured out what to do. By November 2017 we had secured a new location and began construction. On June 1st 2018 we opened our new location, reuniting our staff and patrons once again in East Charlotte.

Our staff treats every guest like family and makes sure that your visit with us is the best! Many of our patrons have grown up with us, that started coming to Sunrise when they were children and now they bring their children and grandchildren in. Our customers are our family.
